Tackle Football
Program Overview
Our Tackle Football Program is designed to teach athletes the fundamentals of tackle football in a structured, competitive, and
safety-first environment. Following
Hometown Football League rules and guidelines, the program emphasizes proper technique, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. This program supports players of all experience levels—from first-time tackle athletes to those preparing for middle school football—while prioritizing player development and long-term success.
Age Divisions
Teams are organized according to age as of July 1st, to promote fair competition and player safety across the league.
- Freshman Division – The first level of traditional tackle football. Available to ages 7-8.
- Junior Varsity Division – Focuses on advancing fundamental skills, game strategy, and discipline. Available to ages 9-10
- Varsity Division – Final division before ending middle school program. Available to ages 11-12.
Coaching & Team Parents
All RYFC teams are led by dedicated parent volunteers and supported by RYFC board members. Parents and guardians are encouraged to get involved as coaches, team parents, or support staff. Each team includes a team parent and typically 5–7 coaches who focus on specific areas of the game—line play, offense, defense, and special teams—so athletes get well-rounded instruction and support.
Practice & Game Schedule
- Practices: Practices are held 4 days a week (typically Monday-Thursday) until school begins. Once school and regular season games begin, practices take place 3 days a week.
- Games: Played each Saturday.
- Freshman Division: 10am
- JV Division: 12pm
- Varsity Division: 2pm
Practice schedules, locations, and game calendars will be shared once final details are approved. Adjustments may occur due to weather, field availability, or league coordination.
